since it's been so long since i've submitted anything to deviantart, i thought i'd throw this up there.
it's an entry for a calendar competition run by a paper company for design students in new zealand.
the theme is contradiction, and the contradiction i based my design on is "less is more"

this is far removed from what i usually do. i think it's totally trendwhore but i'm shameless and thus i don't care.

so yeah,

this was done in illustrator cs and probably took like ten minutes or something because i did it three days before it was due.
ok maybe it took more than ten minutes, but it doesn't look like it. sigh.

it looks better when its on nice paper, and the metallic inks i'm using to jazz it up some.

very stylish :P

the way the branches meet with the title is quality.
where 'July' is it looks a lil crowded compared to the 'August' underline.
if it wasn't for the tree it would scream trendwhore but the tree is a nice touch.

would like to see it with the metallic inks though, that would rock.
